Sheila Chalakee, the “Princess of Dark Comedy,” is a comedienne and actress who has performed all around the United States at some of the world’s most noteworthy and infamous theaters & comedy clubs.
She received her Bachelor of Arts in both Theatre & Creative Non-Fiction, graduating with honors, from Columbia College Chicago. As an actress in the Windy City she earned critical acclaim as the romantic lead in the theatrical Chicago production of The Man Who Came to Dinner, to which the Chicago Reader said she was, “Among the best.” She then landed a supporting role in the movie Chasing Robert which also featured comedy greats Andy Dick and Paul Provenza. She studied long form improvisation while in college and then at the renowned I.O. in Chicago. She has since performed with various improvisational troupes from Oklahoma City to Chicago.
As a stand up comic, she has graced stages around the country at The World Famous Comedy Store & Jon Lovitz Comedy Club in Los Angeles, Chicago’s Second City, and The Black Door in Las Vegas. She has made personal appearances on internationally syndicated network television shows such as E! Network’s Post Academy Awards Show and Univision’s Caliente.
As a model her photographs have appeared in outlets from magazines, national Walgreens ad campaigns, and swimsuit calendars representing her Native American tribe (Creek Nation) for Rez Dog.
She currently resides in Los Angeles, California where she works as a comedian and sketch comedy writer & producer. She is also a certified yoga instructor who has taught every age group from 3-83. In her time off she enjoys drawing comic strips, eating things that aren’t meat, being awesome and Tweeting randomness…
